Located on old port land in Auckland Viaduct Harbour this is one of four apartment buildings wrapped around a central marina.
The design explores New Zealand’s identity as Aotearoa ‘land of the long white cloud’; and references the sites former working container terminal history. The 65 units are conceived as a stack of containers and a long low cloud (or stratus cloud) from which the name Stratis is derived.
Stratis is six storeys of white GRC, concrete and glass and uses the entire available town planning envelope.
