The Auckland Epiphytum

The Epiphytum forms a sculptural ‘man-made tree’ laid out in a geometric non reducing Fibonacci sequence. This results in an organic spiral, timber form partially sleeved in shade fabrics to create a distinctive pirouetting silhouette.

The resulting tower consists of a double helix stair structure constructed from six metre hardwood planks arranged in a geometric pattern to allow the dappling of light through the interior.

The Epiphytum is in the Gardens short term plan and fundraising is proceeding at this time.
